Judge and Breeder Mentors

Our current requirements* to be on the BHCA approved mentor list:
 
“Mentors would be used at various Regional and National Shows as well as other shows throughout the country to assist aspiring judges of our breed to more fully understand all facets of the Basset conformation as it fits the written standard. A mentor should: 1. be a member in good standing of the BHCA for at least 12  years; 2. be a recognized breeder having bred (not just owned or shown) at least 5 champions 3. be able to exhibit knowledge of Basset anatomy, form, and function; 4.have regularly attended Nationals and Regional Specialties (in your area) 5.have attended at least one BHCA sponsored seminar in the past 5 years; 6 .have the ability to evaluate dogs using positive terminology without prejudice; 7. be willing to travel and attend functions for the purpose of mentoring without financial reimbursement as a service to the club and breed.”
